By Janet Graham - Last updated: Friday, April 8, 2011

This is the fourth in a series of posts I will publish based on an interview I did with Jim Beqaj to gain his perspective on the progress of women in the financial services industry. Jim is a respected veteran of the financial services industry and author of the recently published "How To Hire The Perfect Employer" which I reviewed in a previous post. (Check out my review; I loved his book!!)   I asked Jim whether he saw himself as a mentor to both men and women and, if so, how his mentoring relationships developed. This is the third in a series of posts I will publish based on an interview I did with Jim Beqaj to gain his perspective on the progress of women in the financial services industry. Jim is a respected veteran of the financial services industry and author of the recently published "How To Hire The Perfect Employer" which I reviewed in a previous post. (Check out my review; I loved his book!!)   I asked Jim what he thinks accounts for the documented lack of progress of women in both the securities industry and in the corporate and professional worlds in general. He responded:   "Okay, so let me answer the first part.  Absolutely. Absolutely without any question.  First of all, just by the plain ...

Inside Job

I highly recommend you see the documentary film about the global financial crisis of 2008, even those of you who feel you have read more than your share of books and articles on this topic.   This film provides several insights which I have not encountered elsewhere and almost everyone I know who has seen it found it quite worthwhile.   If this motivates you to see it or you had already been thinking about doing so, I recommend you do so sooner rather than later because it is in very limited release.   I would love to hear what you think of it. Please share your thoughts in the Comments section below.
