Bev Morris is the proprietor of Churchill's Fine Gourmet Gifts and so much more!!   I am a member of her book club and so received the note she sent out to her BBC (best book club) friends. I asked for her permission to share it with you and she agreed.   "Happy New Year to my BBC (best book club) friends!   Really looking forward to spring and book discussions. I just turned 65 (yay! senior's discount) and have been reflecting a lot on the last 10 years. I'm sending my thoughts on "taking chances" in the attachment. I have been profoundly surprised at myself. I wish you, all the best, in taking chances whatever they may be."   I have admired Bev Morris ...

I stole the above question from Sheryl Sandberg's 2011 commencement address to the graduating class of Barnard College which she talks about in the first chapter of her fabulous book "Lean In."   Sandberg ended her address to the class with the following:   "So please ask yourself: What would I do if I weren't afraid? It has been a wonderful year and a fabulous experience!!   I am grateful to those of you who purchased my book and to those of you who asked me to speak at an event your company or your organization was hosting. Your support meant so very much to me!!   However, I am not done yet and so I am sharing My Christmas Wish with you!!   I would like to speak ...

A Comprehensive Guide to Feminist Theory: 20 Essential Reads

By - Last updated: Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Sheer joy.....with a little dash of pride.....was what I felt when I saw the title of an essay written by Elizabeth DiEmanuele, posted on her facebook page with the link to the essay itself. The title of her essay is the title of my post today "A Comprehensive Guide to Feminist Theory: 20 Essential Reads."   Elizabeth's post gave me hope too!!  You see I had convinced myself that the younger generation had lost interest in "feminism" and Elizabeth proved me wrong. She is a university student and to study and understand and write about feminist theory (which is more than I had done before declaring to the world whenever the opportunity arose that I was one, a feminist that is) gave ...
