How to spring clean your mind

Hadley Dyer wrote a column in today's Globe with the title "How to spring clean your mind".  I think it's the perfect article for the first day of spring and the perfect time for a little personal reflection.   In a section of the article entitled "Assess Your Life" Hadley quotes, motivational speaker Steve Siebold who says: "This is a time of year when people tap into their emotions and take stock of where they are. You can set some new goals, but first, on a scale of one to seven - seven being best - ask yourself the big questions. Am I happy? Am I fulfilled? Am I doing what I want to do? Women in Power

Over the next eight weeks, The Globe is exploring eight issues they believe will challenge Canada in the next decade and beyond. Their hope is "to spark a discussion that begins in our pages, but ultimately lives beyond them."   Women in Power is one of these issues and the coverage of this issue began on the weekend and is continuing this week. Female Bonding

Leah McLaren wrote a beautiful column in last Saturday's Globe about the book "Let's Take the Long Way Home: A Memoir of Friendship"  written by Gail Caldwell five years after the death of her best friend, Caroline Knapp.  McLaren writes about the book and  female friendships in a very touching and thoughtful way.    I had already purchased the book when I read the column and it reinforced my decision to do so.   I have provided the link to the Globe column below and encourage you to read it.
