A Letter for Nicolle

By - Last updated: Friday, September 20, 2013

Some time ago, my friend Mary Tod (author of the just released book of historical fiction Unravelled) wrote several letters to her daughter Leslie and I posted them here on my blog. The reaction to her letters was very, very positive and gave me an idea!! What if others wrote similar letters to their granddaughters, daughters and/or nieces and allowed me to post it on my blog?   This is the first letter I received in response to a request I sent out some time ago. I held on to it,  hoping more of you would read it, once we were all " back to school!!"   A Letter for Nicolle Children were never a part of my master plan, so this is a ...

Interview with John Smith

Today's post is the first of three excerpts from my interview with "John Smith." John is a hugely successful participant in the Canadian securities industry and I thought his perspective on a variety of issues would be interesting to consider!! I was thrilled he agreed to be interviewed. I hope you enjoy reading what he has to say and as usual your comments are most welcome!!   As we began the interview, John says this about women “I consider females superior to males in many ways.  In general, they’re superior. Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg

I read Sheryl Sandberg's new book Lean In yesterday!!   And I loved it!! Every single word of it!!   I believe writing this book and sharing these stories and her thoughts on "Women, Work and the Will to Lead" was a generous and courageous act of leadership on her part!! She definitely had more to lose than gain by doing so and she knew it and wrote the book anyways!!   Congratulations, Sheryl!!   I encourage you to read it and I would love to hear what you think of it!!
