I asked Freddie what she considered to be the major obstacles or difficulties she faced during her career and what she did when she faced them. She said every time she changed jobs, not employers but jobs, she found it extremely difficult. She thinks because she has a strong desire to be successful or a fear of failure she puts a tremendous amount of pressure on herself, in essence, she is an "insecure over achiever". In Erica's opinion, the best advice she was ever given was about having children, specifically, when you have children take the time to bring them up because you have a lot more time than you think you have. In Erica's opinion, we are programmed to think that we only have the years between age 25 and 40 to be successful in our careers but she believes we have much more time than that. I asked Erica to tell me about the relationships in her life which she believes had the greatest impact on her and in particular on her work life and career. Erica believes relationships in general have a big influence on the careers of women (and she thinks that it's probably the same case for men!)
