How do you survive a management change or restructuring?

First and foremost, you need to be a team player. Management changes and reorganizations are tough, especially if you are not fully convinced about the change. However, senior management usually takes this opportunity to watch how their more junior management is coping. In other words, view this as a test.   How you respond will impact not only you and your career but it can have a marked affect on your colleagues and subordinates. You need to go the extra mile. Be sensitive that everyone is feeling somewhat unnerved. Don’t be too aggressive about pushing for clarity at the early stages if the environment is somewhat vague. This is an endorsement and an act of support and in my opinion, I am doing you a tremendous favour!!!   Sandra Post is the best golf instructor I have ever had and I have had many!!!  (And I would respectfully ask anyone who plays with me, not to hold my game against her…you should have played with me before I met Sandra!!!)   Sandra is a ground breaker and an inspiration. And she made the difficult transition from the world of professional sports to the world the rest of us inhabit and she did it profoundly well!!
