This year has been an exciting one for me!!   I have sold more than 2,250 copies of my book,  Babes on Bay Street and I have spoken about the book and the "Lessons Learned by the Babes on Bay Street" to more than 2,500 people in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Washington and places in between. It has been a wonderful year and a fabulous experience!!   I am grateful to those of you who purchased my book and to those of you who asked me to speak at an event your company or your organization was hosting. A Letter for Nicolle

Some time ago, my friend Mary Tod (author of the just released book of historical fiction Unravelled) wrote several letters to her daughter Leslie and I posted them here on my blog. The reaction to her letters was very, very positive and gave me an idea!! George Saunders is a New York times bestselling American writer of short stories, essays, novellas and children's books. He delivered the convocation speech at Syracuse University for the class of 2013 which was published in its entirety in the New York Times on July 31, 2013. They felt the entire speech was well worth reading and I agree. Summer Reading Suggestions

I belong to the best book club in the world (in my very humble opinion)!! Three things make it great.   1. Our club is hosted by the same wonderful woman each time we meet and she makes us a fabulous dinner every time we get together;   2. One of our club members owns Churchill's Fine Gourmet Gifts and each time we meet she brings incredibly decadent sweet treats; and   3. Our meetings are "facilitated" by the fabulous Nina McCreath one of the former proprietors of The Flying Dragon book store (where we previously had the privilege of meeting).
