Vincenza Sera has been working in the financial services sector for more than 25 years. After earning an MBA she joined the Corporate Finance Division of CIBC in Commerce Court. It turned out to be a dream job in the center of the action right at King and Bay. Here she met many amazing and talented women who continue to support and inspire her today. After eight years at CIBC a year long secondment to Gordon Capital provided an opportunity to work beside the investment banking movers and shakers of the time under legendary Jimmy Connacher. This experience then led to an offer in 1992 to join the 5 person investment banking group at First Marathon Securities. This group ultimately grew to over 100 people over time and a merger with Levesque Beaubien to create National Bank Financial.
Despite Vincenza's passion for the deal and her many loyal, active and interesting clients, the 24/7 nature of investment banking caused her to rethink her life and in 2004 she decided to move away from full time employment. She has never looked back since she has and is sitting on several boards and committees, has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Directors Education Program, travelled extensively and is a more present and focused partner/daughter/sister and friend. These days she is donning a pink hard hat and project managing the total renovation of a house in the city which she hopes to move into eventually.
