The Opt Out Generation Wants Back In

posted October 7th, 2013 by Janet Graham - One Comment

A friend sent me the link to an article published in the New York Times in early August with the title “The Opt Out Generation Wants Back In.” ¬†When friends send me articles, I usually read them and tweet about them (if I am inspired to do so), ¬†despite the fact, I am well aware many of you are not on twitter.

In this case, I kept thinking about the article and thought it offered a perspective we don’t hear very often, so I am doing things the old fashioned way…I am blogging about it to share the link with you….in the hopes, more of you will read it.

I warn you this article is a long one!! Regardless, I believe it is worth reading to the very end. Here is the link.

Very interesting article Janet.

I guess I really believe that everyone needs to make some money, and that it is a really high risk strategy not to stay marketable. Unemployment, divorce and death are facts of life. Does that mean sticking with a 24/7 work situation when kids come along? I don’t think so. A rich family life does take some time! Anyway, too much focus on work can be devastating for anyone’s personal life.
