Hilary Clinton and Gloria Steinem

Over the last couple of weeks, there have been several wonderful articles, stories and opinion pieces written and published in the New York Times about two women I admire greatly — Hilary Clinton and Gloria Steinem (my all-time hero)!!

In case you missed them, I have included the links to the columns here.

The first is a link to an opinion piece written by another great woman, Maureen Dowd on Wednesday, March 14, the same day the editorial “Why I Am Leaving Goldman Sachs”  written by Greg Smith was published.  In all of the hoopla about the Greg Smith column it would be easy to miss the Maureen Dowd column which would be a shame. I believe it is well worth the read. You can find it by following this link http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/14/opinion/dowd-dont-tread-on-us.html

The second two articles were published this past Sunday in the New York Times. The first “A Woman Like No Other” talks about Gloria Steinem and why in all the years since we first heard her voice no successor has emerged to take her place in the women’s movement. You can find it by following this link http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/18/fashion/in-the-womans-movement-who-will-replace-gloria-steinem.html?hp

I adore Gloria Steinem and I cannot imagine how I might have relished the opportunity to experience what  Shelby Knox did for two and a half years beginning in 2008. You can read all about it by following this link http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/18/fashion/my-roommate-gloria-steinem.html

I hope you enjoy these pieces.  I did!!
