Advice:How To Climb The Ladder

This is another piece of advice from the series “Advice:How to Climb the Ladder” which was written by Janet McFarland as part of the October 2010 series by the Globe and Mail which comprised a number of articles about Women in Power. The component written by Ms McFarland comprised advice from a number of senior Canadian women which I thought was excellent.

The following is from Michelle Carinci, Former President & CEO, Atlantic Lottery Corporation

“Don’t worry about the fact you’re a woman. Use that to your advantage and understand what you as a woman bring to the table that is a different perspective, and that it can be valued if it’s positioned properly. And find a mentor. If you know what direction you want to go in, or even if you’re trying to figure that out, women will help you. Women want to help. We love to do that, we love to nurture.”
