Advice:How To Climb The Ladder

This is another piece of advice from the series “Advice:How to Climb the Ladder” which was written by Janet McFarland as part of the October 2010 series by the Globe and Mail which comprised a number of articles about Women in Power. The component written by Ms McFarland comprised advice from a number of senior Canadian women which I thought was excellent.

The following is from Rosemarie Leclair, Chair and CEO Ontario Energy Board

“Be visible when you have opportunities to be out there at the boardroom table or in a meeting setting. I’m not sure it’s just women – a lot of people just sit back and allow others to speak up. I did that as well. …And it’s those who contribute who do get noticed, and being noticed is part of the opportunity of moving up.”
