Gratitude

Just over three years ago, at our wedding party I spoke about gratitude. I said I was grateful to have Daniel G. Nixon in my life and I am. I said I was grateful to have the love of my parents and my brother and sister in law and I am. I said I was grateful to have my beloved friend Vincenza Sera in my life and I am. I said I was grateful for the friends in my life, old friends, new friends, childhood and school friends, work friends, leadership and coaching friends and my husband’s friends and I am. I said I was grateful to have my girlfriends (and their spouses) in my life and I am. I said how proud I am of their accomplishments and I am. I said I was grateful for my beautiful dog Oakley and I am. And I said I was grateful to be part of such a strong and loving family and I am. And I said I was grateful to have children in my life and I am. I declared my love for each of them and I do so here again today. And I said I was grateful for all of the love in my life and I am.

And when I thought about writing a post on gratitude I thought I could in essence, simply restate what I said three years ago because little has changed in terms of the people and things for which I am grateful!!

There is one thing which is different today. This year I was inspired to act, to do something I have dreamed of doing for a long, long time… to tell the stories of the wonderful women I met while working on Bay Street. And the experience has been everything I hoped it would be. However, I could not have done it without the courageous women who agreed to be interviewed and have their stories told. It has been a tremendous privilege to tell the stories of these women and it is one I hold sacred. And I am profoundly grateful to each and every one of them!! And I am grateful to the senior and successful women who agreed to be Babes on the site and answer your questions. I am honoured by their participation.

This will be my last post for 2009. It is time for me (and you) to spend time with those we love!! To reflect on everything we have in our lives for which we are grateful!! And to savour it all!!

I wish you great joy!!!

Janet, your words are inspiring. Your message is compelling. Cherish every minute with family and friends over the holiday. Lots of love, Wendy xoxo
